For 2023, the Low Cab Forward feature (2) new 5500 truck GVW ratings. The 5500 HG GVWR is 17,950 lbs and 5500 XG 19,500 lbs. They are introduced on a limited variety of wheelbases. The regular cab 5500 HG comes in 132.5", 150" and 176" wheelbases. The 5500 XG crew cab will be available in 150" and 176" wheelbases.
The powertrain remains the current L8T 6.6L gas engine combined with the Allison RDS 6-speed transmission. Keeping with 19.5" wheels and tires which will continue to make it just short of dock height. The appearance features remain the same as the previous 2022/2023 models.
